If you continue to browse and use this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern UpStage Theatre Company's relationship with you in relation to this website. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website.
 

The term 'UpStage Theatre Company' or 'us' or 'we' refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Lopping Hall, 189 High Road, Loughton, Essex, IG10 4LF. Our company registration number is 12614383 at Companies House. The term 'you' refers to the user or viewer of our website.


The use of this website is subject to the following terms of use:

Membership

PRINCIPAL TERMS

  1. This agreement commences once you have indicated your acceptance in the Declaration section of the web sign up process.

  2. This agreement will become binding on you and us when we contact you to confirm your membership application has been accepted after payment, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us.

  3. You will be entitled to all the rights and privileges set for the Type of Membership chosen.

  4. You cannot transfer this agreement to anyone else​

CODE OF CONDUCT & MEMBERSHIP

UpStage Theatre Company is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all members. Everyone involved in our productions, events and activities is expected to treat others with kindness, fairness and respect at all times.

​

Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or behaviour that negatively impacts the wellbeing of other members will not be tolerated. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner during rehearsals, performances, meetings, and any company-related activities.

Members are also expected to represent the company positively in public and online. Any social media activity or public behaviour that brings the company into disrepute, or that targets, criticises, or harasses other members, may be considered a breach of this code of conduct.

The Directors reserve the right to suspend or terminate a person’s membership, or remove them from a production, role, or company activity, if their behaviour is considered inappropriate, harmful to others, disruptive to the rehearsal process, or inconsistent with the ethos and values of UpStage Theatre Company.

In such circumstances, this decision will be made at the discretion of the Directors and may take effect immediately if deemed necessary to protect the wellbeing of the company and its members. Membership fees, production fees, or other payments already made may not be refunded where removal is due to a breach of this code of conduct.

TERMINATION

If you wish to terminate your membership you should contact upstagetc@gmail.com with your request. We are unable to refund any previously paid membership fees in most cases. Each case shall be decided on at our discretion.

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

As per the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you are entitled to cancel your membership and receive a full refund of any fees paid within 14 days of completing your membership application form. However, as per regulation 36 of Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you select to commence your membership immediately, or you ask us to start your membership early, you agree that if you subsequently cancel your membership within the 14 day period, you will be refunded any monies paid, less an amount for the membership you have already used commencing from the first day after joining.

MISCELLANEOUS TERMS

  1. Voting members must be 16 or older.

  2. Junior Membership is open to persons aged 7-15. All UpStage Junior cast members must have valid Junior Membership status in order to join the cast.

  3. You agree to comply with the Rules of Membership which can be requested at any time by emailing upstagetc@gmail.com We may make reasonable changes to these Rules at any time provided that we give you advance notice of the change.

  4. If we take no action or let you off any breach of this agreement or give you extra time to pay or comply, it will not stop us enforcing the terms of this agreement strictly at a future date.

  5. We may assign the benefit of this agreement and our rights thereunder to a third party on notice to you. Your rights under this agreement will not be prejudiced.

  6. There may be occasions where we have to cease running a rehearsal or event. We will do our best to let you know of such closures in advance of them taking place, unless the problem is urgent or an emergency. We will use all commercially reasonable endeavours to ensure that such closures are kept to  a minimum, in both duration and frequency. You will not be entitled to a refund of part of, or all of, your membership fees in such circumstances.

  7. We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by any event that is outside of our reasonable control.

  8. This agreement is governed by English Law.

  9. We may terminate this agreement with immediate effect on notifying you if you are in breach of the Rules of Membership.
